One mountain, three ways of living under it. The Romans tapped its spring and built the Temple of Waters at the head of a 132-kilometre aqueduct to Carthage; the town of Zaghouan grew up below, with its lanes, its square and its almond pastries; a working farm on its slopes — Dar Zaghouan, the first rural guesthouse in Tunisia — presses its own olive oil, makes its own cheese and keeps horses, ostriches and a poultry yard, and its guide walks you through all of it; and on a spur a quarter of an hour away, Zriba Olia, a stone village its people left from the 1960s, stands whole and empty above the hot springs, with the plain of Zaghouan spread out beneath.
The vehicle is yours alone: no coach, no strangers, no shop that was not on the programme. You leave at the hour that suits you from Tunis or Hammamet — both are about an hour from the mountain — stay longer where you want to, and eat at the farm or in town, as you prefer. The price is agreed before you leave — no deposit, nothing added on the day.
We run this tour year-round. In summer we start early so the walking is done before the heat, and in winter we simply start an hour later.
Yes. The vehicle is yours alone — no other travellers are added, and there is no pick-up round of other hotels before the day starts. The price is for the vehicle, not per seat.
The price is €103 for the whole vehicle, which carries up to 4 people. For a full group that works out at about €26 each; for two people it is half the total between you.

All year. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable, but nothing on this route depends on the season.
Yes. Up to eight travel in one minivan; nine or ten in two vehicles with the same driver team; from eleven we put you in a minibus (up to 20) or a coach (up to 50, more on request), with a driver-guide who knows the sites. The price stays per vehicle and is quoted personally — send us the number and the date and you have the figure within the hour.
