The only Punic town Rome never rebuilt — it was destroyed in the third century BC and simply left, so what survives is Carthaginian rather than Roman-over-Carthaginian. The streets, drains and house plans are legible, and almost every house has a pink-plastered bath built into it, which tells you something about how these people lived that no monument does.
